Department Profile
The Department of Respiratory Medicine provides a coordinated pathway for patients with airway, lung, pleural and sleep-related respiratory disorders. Clinical services extend from outpatient assessment and inpatient care to physiological testing, bronchoscopy, oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation and rehabilitation-oriented follow-up.
The department integrates bedside medicine with diagnostic interpretation and procedure-based learning. Its academic environment supports clinical reasoning, imaging correlation, pulmonary function interpretation, supervised procedural exposure and research in common and complex respiratory disease.

Oxygen therapy and respiratory monitoring support
Diagnosis and management of asthma, COPD, tuberculosis, pneumonia and pleural diseases
Management of respiratory failure and critically ill chest patients in coordination with ICU
Pleural aspiration, chest tube support and pleural procedure orientation

Bronchoscopy Facility
Bronchoscopy support for airway evaluation, diagnostic sampling, therapeutic assistance and academic training.
Sleep Study Support
Sleep study support for snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, excessive daytime sleepiness and sleep-related breathing disorders.
NIV & Respiratory Support
Non-invasive ventilatory support including CPAP, BiPAP and oxygen therapy for selected respiratory patients.
TB & Chest Disease Care
Diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and counselling support for tuberculosis, pneumonia, pleural diseases and chronic chest conditions.
Pleural Procedure Support
Support for pleural aspiration, chest tube drainage coordination, pleural fluid evaluation and related bedside procedures.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Breathing exercises, inhaler technique counselling, smoking cessation and rehabilitation-oriented respiratory care.
