Department Profile
The Department of General Surgery delivers planned and emergency surgical care across common abdominal, soft-tissue, wound and trauma-related conditions. Patient management is organised around pre-operative assessment, safe operative care, post-operative monitoring and coordinated recovery.
In addition to core general surgery, the department supports laparoscopic procedures, reconstructive and burn care, selected urological services and procedure-based training. Academic work combines bedside examination, operative planning, surgical decision-making, skills development and case-based learning.
