Department Profile

The Department of Ophthalmology provides structured eye care from primary visual assessment and refraction to medical ophthalmology, microsurgical care and post-operative rehabilitation. Clinical services are organised around accurate examination, timely intervention and preservation of useful vision.

The department supports inpatient care, cataract surgery, ocular trauma management, glaucoma evaluation, fundus assessment and selected paediatric and lacrimal work. Undergraduate teaching is integrated with OPD examination, diagnostic demonstrations and operation-theatre exposure.
